On October 10, 2020 went to Davenport, Iowa while there took pictures of a few abandoned lines and one of which was the Rock Island Blackhawk Branch which ran out to Bennett, Iowa but in later years only served a few industries in Davenport.
In 1980 the Rock Island Railroad went bankrupt and ceased to operate. After which the industries in Davenport, Iowa along this branch were served by the Milwuakee Road until 1986 when it merged with the SOO Line. After 1997 the I&M later the DM&E served this area. The last customer the Blackrock Foundry closed and was torn down prior to 2008 so the line has been out of service probably officially abandoned.
