United Electric (UECC) line...Dunfermline to Liverpool,Illinois.

Around where the current Duck Creek Power Plant is and the failed ethanol plant
east of Dunfermline are some old tracks buried in the woods that once went to the
Buckheart Coal Mine off the CB&Q/BN Main line at Dunfermline.  This spur went
to the mine and had built tracks seven or so miles southeast down to just north of
Liverpool, Illinois where there was a barge coal loading dock. It's hard to say when
this line was abandoned but it's a good bet when the Buckheart Coal mine (owned
by United Electric Coal Company) in 1984  it was abandoned. The Liverpool dock
probably abandoned  before or so I was told but not too sure. The coal mine shut
down in 1984 I do know that much. The tracks around that that went to the mine
was  no doubts used until the mines closure. By 1984 what was a spur off to just this
mine was also extended to the power plant which was built about 1976. Anything
south of the current  still active track that goes by the ethanol to the power plant
ceased all activity.

These pictures are of track still lying south of the active track to the power plant.
This is west of the power plant.

This area is in the Duck CReek Power plant south of the area I just show some
pictures of that once crossed this dirt road.

This next picture i took in 2015 is  off Route 24 where the track to Liverpool would have
ran along Buckheart Creek to just north of Liverpool a few miles away.
